From the cold North come the Blighted Nyss (Frost Elves) Blighted Ogrun and the monstrous Dragonspawn of the Legion of Everblight...
So the Legion is my faction of choice for our tale of Eagle gamers trip into the Iron Kingdoms.. so what are they all about.. well to be quiet frank its all about the Warbeast..ton upon ton of blighted sightless Dragonspawn looking to tear/trample their way across the Kingdom in an orgy of violence.. whats not to like.. The Legion appears to be a bit of a glass cannon army which will be a nice change from the wall of nurgle i was running for years..
So were do i start.. well while we're aiming for dual 35pts lists i don't want to get bogged down with the myriad of cool monsters/warlock combinations so i've decided to start with Thragrosh Prophet of Everblight as my warlock... hes the epitomy of a beatstick.. hits like a ton of bricks and has some nifty abilities to go with it...

So whats my week one Pledge..
Now i've picked my Warlock and picked up the Legion army in a box (great deal i must say.. thanks for the advice Stevo)..
My week One pledge will be to paint up Thragrosh and try out the various warbeasts in the box to see what compliments Thragrosh and works well in his battlegroup...

So played a couple of games last night at various points levels
1st up was a quick intro game vs Sam’s Starter Box Convergence.. Not having a Starter box myself I figured I’d balance points and not take the Scythean to keep it fair (well as fair as a 16pt games using Thragrosh can be!)..
So Sam’s lined up with Syntherion, a Cipher, Galvanizer and a Mitigator and I took Thrag, an Angelicus and a Neraph…
Unfortunately having 2 Heavies that were immune to Knockdown seriously limited what Sam could actually do and Reconstruct upkept on the Cipher meant that the game descended into wakamole on the Cipher with the rest of Sam’s vector doing very little…
Sorry Sam ;-(
Second game was against Tom’s 20pts of Feora led Menoth against my Thrag led force…
Having discussed this with Stevo previously we decided to try out one of the Steamroller missions as they seem to be the tourney standard..
I won’t go into the ins and outs of the game as I’m sure Tom will also want to post his thoughts at some point but from a Legion perspective Thrag performed as well as usual with some good offensive spells and buffs.. The Scythean and Angelicus left a bloody trail of destruction across the board but unfortunately the small unit of Warspears with Chieftain attachment were fairly ineffective (as much due to this being the first time I’d used them) as well as my prey target Menoth Jack having the choirs Passage hymn (negating non-magical shooting) active for the first 3 turns of the game..
So it basically came down to whether I could assassinate Feora with the Angelicus on turn 5 or Tom would win on CP 5-3… I managed to connect with the charge but alas couldn't put the Warcaster down handing the victory to Tom..

Week one for me is to try out a few test models... I've got a shredder and 2 Harrier as test subjects.. BRING ON THE GREEN TIDE!! |

2nd pledge has to be game related and as i can see some synergy with thag and the naga i'll be trying the light warbeast out over the coming weeks

So unfortunately the gaming pledge was a bust due to extenuating circumstances and with wall to wall rugby over the next couple of week playtime maybe somewhat curtailed...
Luckily i'm anle to do a hobby pledge this time.. so it's back to put the finishing touches on my little beast.. get everything already built bases (as bading after painting is just a pain!).. i'm also going to try and put a lick of paint onto a bigger warbeast if possible.. probably the scythean

I even built a ravagore, pot and a unit of legionnaires
