So FFG have just announced a new Star Wars strategic board game, Rebellion
I've properly got the Star Wars bug ATM, and love some of FFG's strategic board games (AGoT is a firm favourite). the idea of controlling the entire Rebellion or Empire (including Death Star) sounds awesome!

I was just about to link this...just when you thought FFG couldn't squeeze any more out of the licence.
Very interested, what's the chance the club could pick up a copy? Sure it will appeal to many of the board gamers.

Is this a re-skinned Horus Heresy game with sectors rather than areas of Terra?

Maybe, I never played the HH boardgame (although I heard good things if you and another player could put 5 hours aside).
Sounds from the preview that there is absolutely loads you can do in it and it loosely follows the story of the original trilogy too

I'm sure if someone poked Sam we could try and get a copy for the club.

Took a good look at this at Games Expo and it looked pretty sweet!!!
Should be enough money in the club funds imminently... We should grab a copy.

One of the X-wing players has already got a copy (sorry not learnt everyone's names yet!) so could give it a go with him first.

Good plan - does anyone know if this is achievable on a normal club night or is it a 5 hour monster? That would be me. Haven't got round to playing it yet but it looks like a fun combination of map conquest and worker placement which I've not seen together in a game before. FFG say a game takes between 3 to 4 hours, so I'd expect (at least for the first couple of games) that it would be closer to a five hour monster unless the Imperials find the Rebel's hidden place ridiculously quickly. Its for 2-4 players, who split themselves into teams. I'll try and organise a game sometime soon, but for the next couple of weeks (until the event on 19th June) I'll be X-Winging.

Might be worth trying to organise a general open day on Saturday in July - that will give plenty of time for you to get through a game plus we can potentially do some big games etc

Saturdays in July may be out for me. The only weekend day I've got free for gaming in the next couple of months is the 19th when we've got the X-Wing tournie.
A week night might be doable at some point, although like when we used to play AGOT we'd need to be ready to go at 6-6:30 and play until 10:30pm
