This is the one you want to attend if you are new to Xwing and are looking to fly rebels.
The participation prize is an alternate art C-3P0 which many consider one of the most expensive upgrades in the game (only comes with a £55-£80 Corvette) Very useful for building fat Han lists.
I'm sure the longer standing xwingers from the club are getting along and it's a great way to get some games under your belt.
There has always been a wide variety of experience levels and lists at these tournaments including those with only 1-2 games so you'll quickly get matched against opponents of similar ability through the Swiss system.
Hope you can join us.

Ah....yep, should have checked the availability of tickets. There are two other stores which should have a championships which are within a reasonable travel from London, one in Aldershot and one is Stevenage (both within 5 min of the station)
Will try and find out what dates they are looking to hold them.

And the results are in....
Placed 10th out of a field of 40 winning 3 and losing 2. To be fair, the games I lost were against the current UK Xwing champion and a Crack shot Black Sqdn TIE swarm (really bad match up for my list) so reasonably happy about the placing. Missed out on a ruler by two places though.
Pete had a load of fun with his Guri end game list, barrel rolling with an autoblaster turret Kavil. Unfortunately most of his games were very close, going down to 1 or 2 hull at the end and just going the other way.
In all it was a well run tournament (they even provided some food this time) and we enjoyed a post match beer and Japanese at the nearby Tokyo style diner.
Looking forward to the next one.

Yep, was a fun day of flying, though the results didn't follow through for me. Final place for me was 33, just out of prize range:
Game 1: Loss against 4 T-65 Xwings (1 Biggs, 3 Rookies) At the end of the game a risky placement for Guri ended up with her being blinded by a crit and taken off the next round - both surviving X-Wings had 1 hull left and no Astromech.
Game 2: Loss against a Biggs/Nera/2x A-Wings Once again, the sole survivor of the game was a Biggs with one hull and, you guessed it, no Astromech
Game 3: Loss against Juno/Steele/Vader Cluster Missile Nearly managed this one, but I just couldn't finish off Juno or Vader. Both survived with one hull point each as my opponent forced me to switch targets. Vader even survived a Major Explosion that would've taken him off the board.
Game 4: Win against Echo/Deci Although my opponent flew Echo off the board I don't think she was long for the world. I'm pretty confident I could've taken it anyway.
Game 5: Loss against VI Vader/Howl/3x Black Crack TIEs Another close loss but was something of a moral victory for Guri. Kavil got crushed without much fanfare, Talonbane took out Howl in his usual blaze of glory. Guri then managed to take out 3 Crackshot TIEs without taking any damage, but then flew in a stalemate with Vader - both of them only had a couple of hull left and it could've gone either way but time was called. Unfortunately the final score was 62 - 60 in his favour.
Anyway, the take home from it all is that Guri is great. She'll have some trouble against arc-dodgers, but if you know how to fly her then you can still do okay (with a bit of luck). I guess the search will be on for who to fly alongside her.

Good going chaps. As long as it was a good day that's all that counts. Maybe I should try to make the next one
