Just thought I would put down the timings for getting my replacement TIE Fighter from FFG so people know what to expect if they use the process themselves.
If you have a problem with one of your ships when you open it, this is the page to go to.
www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/more/customer-service/
And click on Component Defects.
I filled out the form and included some pictures in the relevant attachment part showing that the Tie Fighter was misaligned (the peg at the bottom connecting to the stand) so that it wasn't facing straight.
19th Jan: Filled out form
29th Jan: Got an email from US Postal Service stating that FFG had sent a package for me. (That was the only communication, nothing from FFG themselves.)
10th Feb: It arrived via 1st class post.
Only the TIE Fighter was inside. So no stands, base, cards, cardboard for the base or Manoeuvre Dial.
For what it's worth after, 7 days and no response from FFG, I pulled out the peg myself, realigned it and then superglued it, and its been absolutely fine. The only thing preventing me from using the replacement TIE as an extra ship is lack of Manoeuvre Dial. I have 10 ships now so have enough stands and bases, and the original TIE came with spare cards and cardboard bases, so as long as I am not intending to field 2 Academy Pilots it will be fine.
As for the Manoeuvre Dial, I found this site.

You have to paint the Green and Red bits yourself, but they mark which bits are supposed to be what colour. [Would it be acceptable using that in a tournament, for all the tourney goers?]
Hope all that info proves useful if you end up with a misaligned ship like it did.
