So, the Wave 2 pre-release event is almost upon us. Darksphere picked up two tournament packs and are running them on Sat 3rd and Sun 4th October.
The event will be 3 rounds Swiss at 300pts with the top two players picking a 400pt list using the new figures about to be released. Games are two hours long and the event runs from 12pm to 7pm.
Prizes are an alternate art Imperial Star Destroyer card for participation and the top four players get a pick of the pre release packs of Imperial Star Destroyer, Home One, Raider, MC-30c Frigate and the Rogues and villains squadron packs.
Tickets aren't cheap in £14 each but all of the top four prizes are worth well over that and the last tournament only had four participants.
Now for the real dilemma, 3rd of October is the England Australia game, one for which I intend to be in the pub early for. Now the game doesn't kick off until 8pm but these events have a habit of running over a bit and more so if you've got the extra game (or have to wait around to collect your prize as it's being used in the match)
The result of this is I'm likely to go for the 4th which means I'll be playing with a massive hangover, either from celebrating or drowning my sorrows the night before. If Marc or anyone else is interested in joining up let me know if you've got a preference for Sat or Sun. Be good to get a few more Eagles down.

That way you can join me at the imperial assault tournie in Finchley. It finishes at 4.30pm so plenty of time before England vs Australia.

I would love to but between watching world cup matches and three out of four weekends at gaming tournaments, I think it'd be grounds for divorce if I played the 3rd and the 4th.

Hey Sam
I saw this on Dark Sphere and was thinking it would be good to do. We can chat tomorrow night but I would be keen to do this on either day

Nice one, I'm leaning towards the 4th but as you say can chat tomorrow. Be keen for a game next week after this Xwing tournament is done. You up for a game of Xwing tomorrow?

Nice one, will do. I've found that it is very useful to try out the different objective cards as each game plays very differently with them. Once you've played them the set up time should be much quicker, I really struggled with some of the deployment phases under new scenarios. You almost have to plan the whole game out from the first deployment which is tough (and quite a new experience)

Me too, all booked for the 4th. Just turn up the day (they have a list of participants)
I've booked a table for next week from 7pm for a game.
Looking forward to tangling with some speedy Rebels, Imps were fairly straight forward with my list, not so sure about Rebels.

Looking forward to testing my list mate. By any chance did you buy a set of Rebel Fighters? Was looking to borrow an A-Wing if possible. No stress if not.....I'll just have to pick up a set prior to the tournament possibly....unless I change the list.
The more you tighten your grip, the more star systems will slip through your fingers.

No problem, have a spare A wing you can use, give me an excuse to paint a squadron (no promises though).
Should be a good tournament, the guys at the last one were all easy going and still learning. Be interesting to see how many we get along to this one.
Fear...fear of our Imperial Class Star Destroyers will keep the systems in line...
