I must say that Andy was a true gent during our game last night. I was really struggling to keep track of the order of everything given how long it has been since my last game and he was very generous in allowing me to correct mistakes.
He was much harder on himself when he forgot to use his abilities and effects.
The final score did not reflect how close the match was as my MC80 was on 2 HP when his last ship (a flotilla) on 1 HP couldn't avoid a collision and was destroyed. Had the gozantis survived I would have had a full strength Rhymer ball pummel the MC80 and probably my last frigate as well.
Thanks for the game Andy. No problem at all Sam, I truly appreciate the sentiment. Welcome back to the Armada fold! It was very enjoyable game, and looked incredibly thematic on the table (can we publish photos on here?) Note to self: Neb-B's with Salvation & Spinal Armaments hurts. It hurts bad.

Results are in from our first Wednesday night games. We had 2 league games
Anthony Vs Andy (The Battle of the Bro's) Anthony takes this one 6-5 with a 303-278 victory. It was a real slugfest with everything thrown at each other into a massive brawl (Im sure you all saw the pictures) in the centre of the table. At the end of the game Anthony managed to get 6 objective tokens from fire lanes on the last 2 turns....and despite Andy's massive 12 tokens....managed to pull off a victory. Despite James shock at the running of naked MC30s they survived the onslaught, manoeuvred well and claimed the tokens at the end for the win. Tight game. Not many additional secondary objective but Anthony managed to take down a ship with squadrons
James Vs Marc
James takes this one 7-4 with a 256-128 victory. A very fun game dominated by the squadrons battle. I feel kinda guilty as I sprang a troll list on James knowing that he would be bringing his B Swarm most likely. 6 A-Wings and 5 X-Wings. It would be a test. However combined with AA fire from his ships and Yavaris double tapping, he eventually wiped them out all by turn 5. Seems that they can take on a dedicated anti-fighter list quite well despite losing Jan on the first turn. James's positioning and decision making with this list is outstanding. It seems he is master of the B-Wings as well as the MSU Rebels. Once again James crashes into his own ship....this is becoming a thing now!! He also took 2 damage from Asteroids and takes down Yavaris with a squadrons kill. I also manage to crash and take down 4 R&V
Table
1) Callum - 49 points (6 games played) 2) James - 44 points (5 games played) 3) Marc - 24 points (4 games played) 4) Andy - 21 points (7 games played) 5) Marcus - 19 points (3 games played) 6) Jon - 19 points (6 games played) 7) Anthony - 13 points (4 games played) 8) Sam - 9 points (1 games played)

Fun night at The Eagle once again!
Anthony played the objective incredibly well and although close, it was a deserved victory for him. James, I think you may have spoken a little too soon about having to school him on how to fly MC30's, he had those Shrimps zooming at Speed 3 for 6 rounds without a single collision or misplacement! :-)
I'm looking forward to "Next Season"!!

Just for clarification as there seems to be some confusion. Sam is correct in saying that a game finishes when the enemy's last ship is destroyed. Its in the rulebook. However I knew I saw somewhere that you finish the game after that round. Its in the tournament rules, which is the format we are following. Just for clarity we will be playing as per the tournament rules and the below will apply going forward.
End of Round Each tournament round ends in one of the following ways:
• One Player Defeated: At the end of a game round, all of one player ’s ships are destroyed. The player with at least one ship remaining earns a win and the opposing player receives a loss.

Sam Vs Callum
Callum takes this one 7-4 with a 352-249 victory. It looked like a very crazy game with lots of shenanigans. Fleet Ambush with Callum's ISDs being split apart. However Admiral Titus made an appearance and subsequently slowed down one of the Nebs in the deployment zone to speed 0 and the ISD one-shotted it. I don't think Sam was prepared for Titus as this is only his 2nd game following time away X-Winging, however we live and learn (well the Neb wont)and you can guarantee that wont happen again.
Callum crashes into 2 asteroids, crashes into his own ships, and manages to take down 1 R&V Sam takes out a ship with a squadron
Current Table
1) Callum - 56 points (7 games played) 2) James - 44 points (5 games played) 3) Marc - 24 points (4 games played) 4) Andy - 21 points (7 games played) 5) Marcus - 19 points (3 games played) 6) Jon - 19 points (6 games played) 7) Sam - 13 points (2 games played) 8) Anthony - 13 points (4 games played)

I can confirm that Titus is a tit. My bad for not recognising that unlike most other speed affecting cards in the latest wave it wasn't temporary nor to a minimum of 1. I'm not sure the designers expected Titus to affect a ship which could be shot in the opening move of a game for only 2 points.
Thinking about it, Fleet Ambush is the only way that this would occur so it was an unusual combination of circumstances that led to Yavaris' demise.
But hats of to Callum, his aggressive but risky deployment of his flagship paid off and secured the win. I learned a great deal and certainly won't be underestimating Titus in the future nor the blocking power of an ISD.

Sam Vs James
James takes this one 7-4 with a 296-222 victory. Very close game that went down to the wire. Apparently it could have gone either way. Salvation going down in the last turn sealed it.
Sam crashes into 1 asteroids, crashes into his own ship for 2 shields damage, and manages to take down 2 R&V James kills 2 ships with squadrons, 2 ship kills in last turn and kills 1 R&V
James is now 1 win away from taking first place from Callum....with Marcus the only person able to catch him if he gets that win....and he only has Marcus to play. So if Marcus can deny James a victory....he could go on to take the league. Its a showdown!! Saying that if James gets denied a victory....it opens it up to Sam again as well.....and Callum could be sitting pretty too.....time will tell.
Current Table
1) Callum - 56 points (7 games played) 2) James - 51 points (6 games played) 3) Sam - 26 points (4 games played) 4) Marc - 24 points (4 games played) 5) Andy - 21 points (7 games played) 6) Marcus - 19 points (3 games played) 7) Jon - 19 points (6 games played) 8) Anthony - 15 points (5 games played)

It was a very tight game with mistakes made on both sides (for example I forgot to use FCT on turn 1, Sam forgot to use repair tokens) and some bad dice rolls for each of us (Sam's AS shots and my Y-wing failing to hit the rear of his ships several times). Sam had the early lead and I only came back into it in turn 6.

Marc and I had an incredibly close, and hard fought friendly game yesterday. We switched factions for the first time in a long time and I have to say, it made for a refreshing change!

Anthony Vs Marc
I took this one 10-1 with a 426-43 victory. A very fun game dominated by the squadron battle. Rieekan Aces combined with Yavaris really put the hurt on and I don't think Anthony was prepared for it. Double tapping Keyan and Luke is nasty and both the Liberty and MC30 could not repel firepower of that magnitude. Anthony crashed into an asteroid and took out one R&V I killed one R&V, crashed into a ship once, took down 1 ship in turn 6 and killed 3 ships with squadrons.
Current Table
1) Callum - 56 points (7 games played) 2) James - 51 points (6 games played) 3) Marc - 34 points (5 games played) 4) Sam - 26 points (4 games played) 5) Andy - 21 points (7 games played) 6) Marcus - 19 points (3 games played) 7) Jon - 19 points (6 games played) 8) Anthony - 16 points (6 games played)

So this week we have seen to League games happen so far. Sam vs Marcus Marcus takes this one 9-2 with a 400-135 victory. Seems Demo had his way with the Nebs from what I hear. I really hate that ship Combined with Firesprays its a nasty combo Marcus got one R&V kill and a ship kill with squadrons. Marcus vs Marc I took this one 6-5 with a 133-83 victory. A very close, fun game dominated by the squadron battle....kinda felt like X-Wing. No ships kills whatsoever Marcus took 1 R&V kill I killed 7 R&V, crashed into myself ship 4 times Current Table 1) Callum - 56 points (7 games played) 2) James - 51 points (6 games played) 3) Marc - 40 points (6 games played) 4) Marcus - 33 points (5 games played) 5) Sam - 28 points (5 games played) 6) Andy - 21 points (7 games played) 7) Jon - 19 points (6 games played) 8) Anthony - 16 points (6 games played)
